woodland wedding

Daniel and I wanted our wedding to be a true reflection of our lives together -- full of love, laughter, relaxation, adventure, and, of course, tacos. We both have an intense spiritual connection to nature, and knew that the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest would be our platform. We imagined our guests wandering in to an untamed bohemian forest that felt simple, colorful, and a little bit wild. We fell in love with the Tillamook Forest Center the second we laid eyes on the structure and lush surroundings.

Having the chance to gather in solitude with our friends and family prior to taking off on our travels was the biggest blessing. We had everything that we could ever want standing in front of us -- celebrating the relationship we've built and families we've gained. So humbling. Writing our own ceremony and allowing our loved ones to connect with us on a spiritual level was one of our highest priorities when planning the day. We made it through the ceremony with minimal tears, but the magnitude of the day really hit us as we walked back down the aisle as husband and wife!

Our reception was full of surprises, including a choreographed first dance and a flash mob the bride's family had planned in secret! The remainder of the weekend was spent in Oceanside, Oregon brunching with everyone the next morning, walking the beach, eating clam chowder, talking around a beach bonfire, and laughing the nights away. Our memories are sweet and will live in us all forever.
