a photo journey of hanoi, vietnam

Updated: Dec 7, 2018

Hanoi, Vietnam is one of the most bustling lively cities we've visited! We felt good vibes from the second we stepped off of the plane and into a cab to our hotel. The historic old quarter famously has 36 specialist streets. Whole streets are filled with shops dedicated to selling one thing each. It's quite a sight to see bamboo street, then turn a corner to find silver street, and turn again to be illuminated on light street. The intense competition from store to store was confusing to us, but definitely fun to wonder how anyone makes a dollar! Bre's favorite street, by far, was decoration street. We weren't able to find this street until walking to the bus stop on our way out of the country, but the shops were filled to the brim with decorations for the upcoming holiday. The decorations are constantly changing depending on the time of year. Talk about instant happiness and cheer!

Unfortunately, we weren't able to explore Hanoi as much as we had planned to and therefore don't have many recommendations. Bre had an intense case of food poisoning for a couple of days. She couldn't keep any food or water down for 24 hours, so needless to say, we didn't leave our hotel for a few days. We'd love to return someday.
